Driving down to Mukul Resort & Spa evokes the feeling of being in a movie set:

A paradise of Nicaraguan arts and crafts with natural surroundings.

Luxury Travel: Mukul Resort & Spa, NicaraguaIt is a surreal experience to walk into Mukul’s main lobby: ultra high ceilings, white roof tops and oversized woven lighting fixtures inspired by nature. The splendid lobby décor creates a grandiose but welcoming experience for guests, showcasing how detailed and well-planned this luxury designer resort is.

smm_travel_mukul_terrancelandscapeThis paradise is a luxury resort and spa in Guacalito de la Isla, a low-density private beach community on Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast. Developed and finished in 2013, it contains 39 accommodations designed in a style that combines modern elegance with traditional Nicaraguan roots to create a distinct sense of place. According to the vision of the developer, a local beloved man, Don Carols Pellas, the resort & spa’s architectural design focuses on Nicaraguan artisans to craft the furnishings and decorations that ultimately reflect the traditions of the country.

MukulResortAerialSurfing at Mukul can be amazing.  Mukul is located right in front of a world class break, Playa Manzanillo. According to Magicseedweed.com, this is a classic surf spot that was discovered by outsiders after amazing pictures had been featured in Surfer Magzine. At Mukul, the shore break makes it easy for beginners to learn and practice how to surf. On the outside of Mukul’s private beach, you will see intermediate/advanced surfers enjoying barrels at this point break. Boat rides are available via Mukul’s booking. Also, the famous surfing spots: playa Colorado, Santana and Popoyo, are all within an hour’s drive away or by boat for faster access.

Surf Mei Mei has been to Nicaragua many times. We were charmed by its authentic and rustic environment, the friendly locals and the variety of surfing beaches. Nicaragua is relatively new to surfing, especially when compared to its neighbor, Costa Rica. That is why you can often find empty waves with no (or few) surfers. What we really appreciate about Mukul is that Mr. Pellas has a singular great vision: he envisions building an environment that will bring local Nicaraguans together with the cultivation of a largely undiscovered, natural beauty. By providing a world class resort & spa, they are show the rest of the world what Nicaragua has to offer. Mukul is a truly pristine natural sanctuary where guests will enjoy luxurious pampering while connecting in authentic ways to the land, culture and people of Nicaragua. In addition, the surrounding community will benefit from the resulting jobs, schools and improved infrastructure[1] that the spa offers. “We are creating a catalyst that will put our country on the world tourism map,” said Pellas. “Mukul will be a game changer for Nicaragua.”
